Neiha Perera joins WTS Hansuke as partner

WTS Hansuke, a specialist advisory firm focused on financial services, has appointed Neiha Perera as a partner. She joins from EY.

Neiha Perera began her career at EY in 2005, growing the ranks in the firm’s Operational Taxes team. Over the years, she progressed to lead EY’s Automatic Exchange of Information practice, advising global financial institutions through an increasingly complex reporting and enforcement environment.

At the start of this month, Perera has joined WTS Hansuke, a UK-based member firm of WTS Global, a global tax group with teams in 100+ countries.

On her move, Perera noted WTS Hansuke’s deep capabilities in her field of expertise. The firm supports financial services firms with the full lifecycle of Automatic Exchange of Information compliance – from interpretation and implementation through to operational governance, controls testing, audit defence, remediation and regulator readiness.

“Automatic Exchange of Information has evolved, It’s no longer just about getting reporting right. It’s about proving governance, controls and operational effectiveness across the entire process.”

The move sees Perera re-unite with Ali Kazimi, the Founder and Managing Partner of WTS Hansuke. He was one of her first bosses at EY, and after then spending several years at BlackRock, he launched WTS Hansuke in 2016.

“My first role at EY was in the very team Ali built, and it shaped my career. To return and build something together again, with the benefit of everything the market has learned over the last decade, is truly a unique opportunity,” said Perera.

Perera is widely recognised for her expertise in Automatic Exchange of Information advisory and implementation, spanning FATCA, CRS, governance frameworks, remediation programmes and audit response. She has led delivery across four continents, supporting 50+ leading financial services firms, and advised banks and asset managers across the US, Europe, APAC and Middle East.

Kazimi commented: “Neiha is one of the most respected leaders in the field. Her ability to translate technical complexity into operational delivery – and to build teams that clients trust – is outstanding. With CRS 2.0 and CARF arriving alongside heightened audit expectations globally, this is exactly the moment where focus and deep specialism matter most. I am truly delighted to welcome her to WTS Hansuke.”
